چکیده

tuberculosis is one of the most common infectious diseases in the world. in recent years, genetically approach has been developed. one of the interesting gene for investigator is ifn-γr1. in this study we determind susceptibility to tuberculosis with polymorphism of ifn-γr1 gene. fifthly patients with smear positive tuberculosis have been chosen randomly. they were matched with 54 healthy controls with no history of tb. polymorphism at 395 codon of ifn-γr1 gene was detected with newport method. mean age of patients and control were 55 ±20 and 53 ± 13.5 years respectively. demographic characteristic had no difference within two groups. one patient in case group had heterozygote mutation at ifn-γr1 gene . in control group there were no mutations. genetically susceptibility to tb was not seen in 395 colon of ifn-γr1 in iranian tb sample and polymorphism of this loci has occur in 2% of tb patients and 0.96% of total study population.

Polymorphism in the First Intron of Interferon-Gamma Gene (+874T→A) in Iranian Patients with Brucellosis

Background: Brucella is a gram-negative bacterium, causing acute and chronic infection in humans and animals. Cell-mediated immunity is the main protective immune response against Brucella spp. Activation of macrophages by IFN-γ and generation of reactive oxygen intermediates and nitric oxide are the main immunologic mechanisms responsible for control of Brucella infection. Objective: To invest...

Interferon-Gamma Gene Polymorphism in Patients with Tuberculosis

Abstract Background and objectives: Interferon-Gamma and interferon Gamma receptor (IFNγ ⁄ IFNγR1) are the main genes associated with susceptibility to tuberculosis. We aimed at studying on interferon-Gamma Gene polymorphism(- 56 C/T) in people suffered from tuberculosis (TB). Material and Methods: In this case-control study, the subjects were 62 individuals with TB and 74 hea...

Interferon-gamma gene polymorphism in Iranian patients with multiple sclerosis.

Interferon- gamma (IFN- gamma) is an important immune regulator and inflammatory cytokine which is implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). A single nucleotide polymorphism, T to A, at position +874 in the first intron has previously been shown. This polymorphism is associated with IFN- gamma production level. To study the effect of this polymorphism on susceptibility to multi...
